Dresden, 11 February 2025 – Today, the Domain pulse 2025, the largest event of the domain industry in the German-speaking territory, started in Dresden. The conference hosted by DENIC eG, the registry of .de domains, brings together renowned experts to discuss key issues of the digital future.
DENIC Board member Tom Keller opened the meeting with a strong message: "The digital world is advancing rapidly – opening up great opportunities but also entailing great challenges. At the Domain pulse 2025, we want to discuss jointly how we can make the internet secure, stable and responsible. Policymakers, business, academia and civil society sharing and exchanging ideas is crucial in this context to finding innovative and sustainable solutions.”
A multifaceted program and highly topical issues
Already the first day of the conference puts key topics of the digital transformation in the limelight:
IT security between illusion and reality– Linus Neumann explains why IT security budgets often fade away while attackers remain undisturbed, and advocates practical threat models and targeted investments.
🔹 Disinformation on the net – Markus Beckedahl, political publicist and founder of netzpolitik.org, analyses who is behind troll factories and what measures can combat disinformation.
🔹 IT of the future faces new challenges – Manuel "HonkHase" Atug, IT security consultant and auditor, takes a look at upcoming technology hypes and cyber security legislation.
🔹 Internet governance and WSIS+20 – A panel of experts discusses progress and challenges and the course for the future of the internet
Besides expert presentations and panel discussions, the Domain pulse 2025 provides multiple opportunities for networking for the more than 300 attendants from politics, business and academia.
