Domain pulse 2025: Second day of conference focuses on artificial intelligence, digital consumers and ends with a farewell

Dresden, 12 February 2025 – The second day of the Domain pulse 2025 started with a fascinating glimpse into the future: Professor Andreas Dengel shed light on the dramatic developments in the field of artificial intelligence and their impact on the economy, society and digital infrastructure. He emphasised that AI has long since ceased to be just a tool and is increasingly being integrated into decision-making processes as an autonomous agent – with far-reaching opportunities, but also with risks.

The next presentation focussed on digital transformation from a consumer perspective. Professor Christian Stummeyer analysed the behaviour of the digital consumer of the future and explained the expectations such consumer will have of companies, platforms and digital services. He particularly pointed out the growing influence of AI-driven personalisation and the unprecedented data protection issues that will arise from it, all of which will revolutionise the marketing of today.

Good-bye to nic.at General Manager Richard Wein – A key chapter of the Austrian registry is coming to an end

A very particular moment on conference day two was the farewell to Richard Wein. The General Manager of nic.at has significantly shaped the work of the Austrian registry for many years. Tom Keller, member of DENIC eG's Executive Board, praised the outstanding cooperation with nic.at, which had comprised much more than collaboratively organising the Domain pulse:
"Richard has strongly been involved in shaping the evolution of the domain industry and left his mark with his expertise, foresight and passion. We would like to express our sincere thanks for the inspiring collaboration and wish him all the best for the future."
